I firmly believe that much of the excess the world exhibits is really a cry for somebody to step up and show them differently. Much like a child stretches the boundaries of its little world in order to find out from the parents when too much is enough, so too the world around us. And much like what happens when parents don’t discipline the child, so it goes with the world when believers don’t take up their roles as light and salt.
Yeshua would have instructed His disciples, in this as well as other things, regarding what they would need to know after He was gone. He would not allow them to think one thing … only for them to find out something different later on.
If man can whitewash away sin from the existence of man’s personal responsibility before God, then why, pray tell, did Yeshua have to come? If man has no sin, he’s in no need of salvation. If man is in no need of salvation then there’s no need for a Saviour. And, if there’s no need of a Saviour then what is the big deal about Jesus? Why did He come? Why did He die? Why did He rise again?
Both Abel and Yeshua are wonderful examples and role models as to how to hang in there and stay faithful to the end. Neither of them saw, as we now see, the lasting fruit of their lives. But yet, being “dead” they still speak.
It’s usually, if not always, stated by Christians that Yeshua is the one that did away with the Torah. I don’t think I’ve ever heard it once stated that God is the one that did away with the Torah. I find that interesting. Don’t you?
Yeshua was perfect light walking in the midst of darkness. He was the Light that exposed the Darkness for what it was. There was no hiding from Him. Darkness could not walk out in the open without exposure. He was a walking antithesis to pretty much everything that swirled around Him. And a lot of people didn’t like it.
“As …(the type church)… we not only open our doors to people of all sexual orientations & gender. We create inclusive religious communities and work for LGBTQ justice & equity as a core part of who we are. All of who you are is welcome!”
I don’t believe we’ll ever see any great moving of God like in generations gone by. I don’t believe we can sing “God Bless America” and think God still looks down and smiles upon our country like He once did. Can we expect God to bless a country that has fallen into such a state of ungodliness? It would be like asking, and expecting, God to bless Sodom and Gomorrah. Not gonna happen.
I was saved as an independent, fundamental, premillennial, pretribulational rapture Baptist — using the Scofield study Bible. It just didn’t get any better than that. We had it down. We were right, correct … no need to further question anything. Just ask us and we’d tell you.
Satan likes, and encourages, pathetically spineless preaching. Could that help to explain, in part, the spiritually deficient state of our people? Perhaps our pulpits are using pea-shooters instead of howitzers.
Preachers aren’t doing anybody any favors when they don’t faithfully present the Word.
