Hosea And The Land

1:2 The land hath committed great whoredom.

1:4 Jehu was king of Israel anointed by Elijah. Jezreel was the location of Baal and idol worship.

1:11 In the end, the children of Israel shall come up out of the land.

1:2 Hosea’s wife is likened to the land.

2:5-8 We have left following God and forgotten all the good He gives come from him. Instead, we are following Baal, false gods, and idols. All the while offering up to them all the good things God has given us.

2:9-15 God declares He will take away all the good things He’s supplied and will hedge us about with thorns.
